How to deliver a global medical conference during Covid

In light of recent events, there has never been a time where the weight of expectation has hung more heavily over the medical and pharmaceutical industries. Fast paced innovation and creativity is needed, so sharing knowledge via conferences and seminars is vital. V-Ex has been on hand to help bring the global medical community together through its digital event services.

January 2021 saw the launch of the American College of Wound Healing and Tissue Repair (ACWHTR) education conference centre, which had over 1200 visitors in the first three days.

ACWHTR approached us in December 2020 looking for a bespoke education centre to hold their live medical conferences quarterly, alongside an exhibition hall and an on-demand lobby for year-round access post-event. The live content and on-demand content – managed and curated by our production team – is used for CME points so our built-in platform tracking, and live analytics has been essential for attendee accuracy.

We hosted four live, multi-day events in 2021, with over 80 sessions and as of today the conference centre has had over 7,500 visits.

Our client at ACWHTR, Ricci McDonald, the Executive Director, has been very happy with the conference centre and particularly happy with the events themselves. As a result, it has been confirmed that the education centre will be refreshed and kept online for 2022.

Cait Alborn, one of our Senior Project Managers, said “This event has been really great to work on, coming from a pharmaceutical live event background it has been great to see the pivot to hybrid/virtual events being so successful for the industry.”
